It’s time for the final stop of our Aussie adventure (boohoo). It’s time for Cairns (yay). As I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, the further north you go, the hotter things get. Up here is hot!! The drive however, is beautiful. Continue reading
Picking up right where we left off: we have finally arrived in Millaa Millaa and chosen where to spend the night. It lies a few hours between Airlie Beach and Cairns, making it the perfect stopover location if you’re heading North as we were. I would strongly recommend you make the detour!
After our wonderful Whitsundays adventure we were feeling pretty pleased with ourselves and the bubble of bliss we had been living in for days. However, there is no rest for the wicked! We picked up our little camper and hit the wide open road once again; this time headed for Millaa Millaa.
So, to continue from my previous Whitsundays post, I will now divulge the details of our 3-day heavenly tour. A little refresher for those of you who didn’t read my quick guide…The Whitsundays are a group of islands on the East Coast of Australia which you can sail around for a few days in total bliss. Need I say more? Continue reading
The Whitsundays are a group of islands located on the coast of Queensland. If you are even considering visiting these islands, DO IT! Seriously. You will not regret it – that I say with confidence. Our visit to the Whitsundays was one of the best experiences of my life so far, and a definite highlight of Australia.
Next up: Noosa. Did we know what to expect? No not at all; but often that’s how the best stories begin! We drove into Noosa or Noosa Heads as it is called now – I have no idea which part the ‘Heads’ covers or why. If you have ever visited, or ever plan to, you will likely find yourself driving along Noosa parade, surrounded by water and the dreamiest houses: the first glimpse of what’s to come.
We decided to make a stop at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on our way up the coast, as we gained an hour just from driving upwards (who knew Australia was that big?!). Best decision ever. I had done a little research beforehand and I had actually prepared to give this detour a miss depending on time restrictions. Thankfully, we made it and we loved it. Continue reading
Once Christmas came and went, we were determined to see in the New Year with a little more excitement. Originally we planned to spend New Years Eve in Sydney watching the famous fireworks display, but things change – especially travel plans! I know it’s the done thing and we’d have to be crazy not to do it ourselves, but this year it was just not meant to be! Continue reading
So, we’re still bumbling along Waterfall Way at this stage. After a particularly intense night of camping, we once again found ourselves looking for breakfast. I don’t even know where we were at this point, let alone the name of the Café. What I do know, it that it was a little like a car-boot sale in there, with all sorts of quirky items displayed around us as we gobbled up our eggs.Sadly, this brekkie was underwhelmingly bog-standard; nothing like the previous day. Beggars can’t be choosers! Continue reading
