Accommodation
Paradise Cove Resort is a 5* property with a variety of room categories, all of which are exquisite. Rooms range from the Garden Bungalow to the ultimate ‘Beach House‘, a private luxury hideaway.
I visited this tropical island paradise with my other half and we were fortunate enough to stay in the ‘Paradise Suite‘ for X2 nights. Full disclosure: Our travel agent messed a few things up and subsequently we were upgraded for our troubles. Anyway. The Paradise Suite is a one-bedroom, ocean-view villa with an open plan layout. It’s also, by the way, the best and most beautiful room I’ve ever stayed in. Truthfully, it’s hard to even begin describing it!
The Paradise Suites are all situated on the beach. Only a few soft, sandy steps from the ocean and your private beachside sun loungers. Dreamy. The suites also house an incredible private plunge pool and a vast outdoor bathroom. It’s like living in your own exclusive resort and spa. Above all, the ocean front positioning provides you with the best seat in the house for spectacular tropical sunsets.
Our villa was impeccably clean, with functioning A/C, a safe, free WiFi and a complimentary mini-bar. When we first arrived, the staff kindly gave us a tour of the villa, demonstrating how everything worked. And naturally, we pretended we weren’t ridiculously excited for them to leave us to it. The moment they did? You guessed it. We tucked into the mini bar’s chilled beverages and hopped straight into the plunge pool. An afternoon well spent, in my book!
Meals
As with many Fijian beach resorts, there is one main dining spot and Paradise Cove Resort is no exception. Their flagship Restaurant, ‘The Black Rock’, is open plan and situated poolside. There is also a separate bar, ‘The Sandbar’, to fulfil all of your sunshine-filled, happy hour needs. But back to the restaurant! The à la carte menu changes regularly, and dinner is made up of five carefully considered courses. Moreover, there is live music throughout the evening which creates a lovely, romantic ambience.
I can safely say that you won’t be disappointed when it comes to breakfast or lunch as there is so much to choose from. In addition to the fresh continental breakfast offering, there is an à la carte menu offering everything from pancakes to smoked salmon. The perfect way to start the day. Alternatively, you can opt to dine in your villa or suite should you prefer. We actually loved the atmosphere in the restaurant, so didn’t choose to do this.
Most noteworthy is that the meal plan comes at an additional cost to your accommodation. Make sure you are aware of the up-to-date pricing of this before you stay. The nice thing about the meal plan is that you don’t need to worry about what you order, as it’s all-inclusive. Well, aside from alcohol (of which they have a fine selection).

Staff
Nothing is too much trouble for the amazing staff here. They do so much to ensure that you are happy throughout your stay and we couldn’t have been more grateful to them. Everyone was so kind, plus, we could tell that they were sincere. The genuine joy they exuded when making conversation was the icing on top of the cake for us.
Facilities
Pool
The main pool can be found next to the bar/restaurant; moments from the beach. There are plenty of sun loungers and this pool is family-friendly.
The resort also has ‘The Cove’ which is a tranquil adults-only area featuring two pools and a separate bar. This little resort with the main resort is, very importantly, a well-kept secret. So well kept, we didn’t even know about it during our stay!
Beach Area
This gorgeous getaway features white sand beaches as far as the eye can see. All the beachfront villas have their own private sun loungers and straw umbrellas, but there’s plenty of room for everyone. It’s also ‘all tide’ swimming at Paradise Cove which can be hard to come across in Fiji. Mainly because so many of the islands are encompassed by coral reefs. We didn’t snorkel or scuba dive at Paradise Cove because we heard there wasn’t much underwater activity.
Spa
There is a lovely looking spa here, though I didn’t actually make use of it because I’d only recently indulged in a Fijian massage at Blue Lagoon. In all honesty, our suite was so exceptional, we didn’t really leave it. Which is quite unlike me as I’m usually one to make the most of all luxury resort facilities. I suppose it’s just another testament to how fabulous our accommodation was!
Other
The resort offers a kids club and babysitting services. There are also plenty of fun, supervised activities for children. Though I know many couples prefer to opt for adult-only resorts on their getaways, I assure you that this island is big enough for everyone. And if not, there are adult-only areas you can sneak off to!
There are also plenty of opportunities for romance. Fancy a champagne and lobster picnic? The exceptional staff have got you covered. Honeymoon or not, I guarantee that celebrating here is a memory to cherish.
Activities
The world is your oyster at Paradise Cove, they genuinely have everything you could ever want! Besides yoga, hiking and snorkelling, you can try swimming with Manta Rays, amongst other things. Not to mention, the plethora of ways you can get involved with the local community.
Personally, I am not a huge fan of ‘enforced fun’ or jam-packed schedules while I’m on holiday. But fear not, because here, they’ve mastered the balance. This idyllic island has an abundance of ways to kick back and unwind. On the other hand, adventure is always available to those that want it.
Personal Summary
Our short escape to Paradise Cove Resort was truly one of the best I have ever had and consequently, I often talk about it. I’ve even given it a unique 6-star rating because it’s that special. This rating is really because sister resort, Blue Lagoon, was completely faultless. I didn’t want to do Blue Lagoon a disservice by giving just 4 stars, however, Paradise Cove is incomparable.
In summary, our only regret was not staying longer. Out of all the islands we experienced, we sadly ended up staying at our favourite for the shortest amount of time. C’est la vie! Given the chance, I would return in a heartbeat.
Finally, we’ve reached the end! If you’ve stuck with me until this point, I salute you! In all seriousness, I hope that this review has given you a glimpse into Fiji’s beauty and an in-depth overview of Paradise Cove Resort.
If you’re looking for an equally impressive Fijian resort, I highly recommend sister property Blue Lagoon. In contrast, it’s slightly lower in price and slightly less formal. You can read the full review here: Blue Lagoon Beach Resort
